God's Influence In Your Life
How significant can a three-letter word be? This little word smacks of great importance not only in this story but how it relates to God’s influence in the order of your life.
Jesus came to a city of Samaria called Sikar. Jacob’s well was there. Jesus was weary from His journey so He sat by the well. Around six in the early evening, a Samaritan woman came to the well to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” (John 4:4-7)
Jesus knew that this woman had a shady past and was gossiped about in her village. She was probably shunned because she was labeled a stealer of husbands.
God's Influence In Your Life
But she was someone who felt the pain of rejection. She had needs, desires, and problems. She suffered at the mouths of those who condemned her. She was ostracized and lonely.
It was the Jewish custom to avoid any contact with the Samaritans as they were considered inferior.
Jesus changed his course that day and said He had to go to Samaria when traveling from Judea to Galilee. He needed to go to Samaria. He had to go. Jesus had a steady resolve and urgency. He deliberately scheduled His trip to pass through Samaria. It didn’t just happen.
Make no mistake – your life has ordained circumstances that are orchestrated by God. Are you jumping for joy when you realize that the God of the universe has your life in His hands? God sought you out. He caused circumstances in your life to bring you to Him.
God Will Create Divine Appointments
If you are concerned about people in your life or family members who don't know Jesus, realize that God wants them to meet Him. He will create divine appointments. God does not want anyone to perish.
If you have a shameful past and feel condemned or ashamed – rest in the knowledge that Jesus has paid the price for your sins, just as He paid the price for this Samaritan woman who did not even know him.
If you are struggling with something that you feel is beyond what you can handle and may be destroying you, rest assured that God will meet you. He wants to be part of your life. He wants to set you free. He promises us that our families shall know Him because of His righteousness within us, which is Christ Jesus.
Study The Word Of God
Whatever trauma you may be facing, take time to listen to what God is speaking to your heart. We are promised that all of God’s blessings are yours if you heed the voice of the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 28:2)
Jesus bore those cruel lashes on His body so you can live in health. (Isaiah 53:5) He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil – bodily, emotionally, and mentally. (Acts 10:38 and Matthew 9:35) When Jesus saw the crowds who were waiting for his healing touch, He was moved by compassion. (Matthew 9:36)
He is the same today as He was during Bible times. Study the Word of God to know that He has freely given you all things through Christ Jesus so you can live an abundant life – including all the blessings, favor, wisdom, healing, and supply you need for whatever you may be facing.
God knows your every need before you ask. Listen with your heart’s ear and establish yourself in His Word and promises. Allow every worry to evaporate when you realize His desire to heal, restore, and meet your every need.
He orchestrates your life just as He has led you to read this message of hope. Nothing happens by chance.
