Are You Believing A Lie?

are you believing a lie

Do you believe conviction is from God? Or are you believing a lie?

If you answered yes, please show me in the Word where it states that. There is much evidence to the contrary but none that will support the untruth that God convicts you.

When you hear a sermon along those lines, do you leave church feeling guilty? My question is – where does guilt come from? The devil is the author and perpetrator of guilt. Period. God will not point out your sins – that is the devil’s job and he is good at it.

As Hebrews 8:7 tells us if the first covenant was perfect, there would have been no need for the second. Continuing to the end of the chapter it confirms clearly that the main message of the new covenant is that God will NOT remember our sins. They are removed as far as the East is from the West. In other words, if God does not remember them and they are removed, why do we dwell on them?

Negative Thoughts

The answer is simple: One of Satan’s strongest weapons is guilt and he is well versed in how to make you feel guilty and to throw it in your face as often as you allow him.

Have you noticed that when you have negative thoughts about yourself, they are in the first person? The devil doesn’t say, “You have an addiction.” “You are not good enough and never will be.” “God doesn’t love you.”

The thoughts you hear about yourself are in the FIRST person. “I have an addiction.” “I will never be good enough, no matter how hard I try.” “God doesn’t love me because I have sinned.”

Those negative thoughts come out of the guilt that the devil wants you to believe about yourself.

If you are being taught that the Holy Spirit is convicting you of sin, then please ask them to show you where that is in the Bible. Just because something is being taught based on tradition and NOT the Word, does not make it true.

God Has Forgiven You

god has forgiven you

Did you hear that? If something is taught based on tradition and NOT the Word, that does not make it true. Christians are living in defeat because of this lie.

The only scripture that is used as an argument to this is John 16:8-9 which says “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin.” This is referring to the unbeliever.

Where God dwells, the enemy has no territory.

Please notice that the word ‘sin’ is in the singular. Not plural. He came to convict the world of the sin of unbelief in him - the sin of rejecting God.

The Holy Spirit never convicts a believer of his sin. He never comes to point out your faults. Even when you fail, He is ever-present to remind you that the blood of Jesus has made you forgiven and righteous.

The Holy Spirit is always there to remind you that God has forgiven you, that the price of sin has been paid. There is absolutely NOTHING you can do to make yourself righteous. It was finished when Jesus died on the cross. His righteousness dwells in our spirit because the Holy Spirit dwells there.

God's Righteousness In You

god's righteousness

The enemy’s job is to put guilt on you because you do not know the Word and understand that you are free from guilt. Read the eighth chapter of Romans until it becomes alive to you. Understand deeply, that the author of guilt is NOT God.

On the cross, God poured out his anger on the body of His Son. Jesus exhausted all the indignation of a holy God against our sins and then He said, “It is finished.” John 19:30

Our sins have already been punished but many Christians keep taking them back.

Remember that God’s righteousness dwells in you. Satan wants to ROB you of that truth. He wants to keep you in guilt. He wants to keep you in his arena by lying to you.

But, your spirit is pure, holy, and the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. As I teach in many YouTube videos, the truth of God’s Word will set you free from that lie.
