Freedom From Guilt And Condemnation

freedom from guilt

Are you living under the yoke of guilt and condemnation? Many people are so familiar with living in guilt that it has become their comfort zone.

Along with that guilt comes its partner – fear. Fear and guilt are the abysses the enemy wants you to dwell in – putting you into a position of wondering if you will ever be good enough, righteous enough, or worthy of God’s grace.

IT IS TIME TO BE LIBERATED – freed from that bondage of guilt or fear.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned” John 3:17–18.

PERIOD. EXCLAMATION POINT. GOD DOES NOT LIE

Now read that scripture verse again – this time aloud. Can you hear God’s heartbeat towards you?

God's Grace

god's grace

STOP believing that God is out to ‘get’ you. This way of thinking comes from the Mosaic Law or the Ten Commandments. Christ came to redeem you from the curse of the law. If you are living under that law, why did He bother?

It is time to realize that God’s heart is full of love, grace, and mercy toward you. The good news of the gospel is in Romans 8 which tells us that “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Look at how the apostle Paul describes the Ten Commandments.

But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory” 2 Corinthians 3:7-9.

Jesus Took Away Your Guilt

take away your guilt

Can you see the clear distinction that God makes in His Word? The Ten Commandments minister death and condemnation because no man was able to keep God’s perfect law. Failure to keep the law at any point brought you under its curse, condemned you, and hung a death sentence over your head

Then Jesus came. He took your guilt, your shame, and all your failures upon himself. You do not have to live under that burden. Guilt was NAILED to the cross.

Remember where guilt comes from – not from God but the accuser of the brethren. The enemy is the father of guilt and chooses to constantly bring that lie to you. BUT….it is your decision, your choice, whether you believe that or if you believe what God says He did for you when He sent His Son.

Jesus met the demands of the first covenant, which is the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law to put the New Covenant, the second covenant into practice --- and that is the message of grace.

Notice how in contrast, the covenant of grace “exceeds much more in glory” because it ministers the spirit of liberty and the gift of God’s righteousness.

Something Liberating Happens...

freedom

The Ten Commandments are glorious. The problem has never been the Ten Commandments or God’s perfect law. The problem has always been man’s inability to keep God’s perfect law

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” Matthew 5:17.

And the law was perfectly fulfilled on the cross when He cried out, “Finished!” (John 19:30).

Jesus met the demands of the first covenant, which is the Mosaic Covenant of the Ten Commandments, to put the second covenant into effect.

You no longer need to live in condemnation and fear under the old covenant of the law. You are now under the new covenant of grace, where you are fully forgiven, justified, and made righteous by Jesus’ blood to reign in life.

When you get thoughts of guilt, call them out by name. There is a name for everything that tries to destroy us. Guilt has a name. Fear has a name. Condemnation has a name.

But there is a name that is above every other name and that name is Jesus. So, we have the God-given right to speak to fear, guilt, or shame.

Make it part of your prayer life. “Thank you, Lord, that you took my guilt, my shame, my fear and nailed it to the cross. Thank you that I do not have to live under that yoke of condemnation. Thank you that I am free because Christ has redeemed me.”

When you realize you are justified by faith and NOT by your works in the new covenant of God’s grace, something liberating happens.

You Are Not Under Condemnation

perfection of jesus work

You become free from the ministry of condemnation and the death it ministers – guilt, insecurity, dread, anxiety, and many types of debilitating fears.

Condemnation is a thief and tries to rob you of joy or peace in every area of your life. So, take authority over it in the name of Jesus and refuse to listen to its lies. Begin to thank God that He paid the price on your behalf.

You make the choice. You decide to believe the lies of the enemy or…..you can CHOOSE to believe what the Bible says about you.

You are NOT under condemnation. You are under righteousness because Jesus paid the price.

Do not be fearful that your failures will cause Him to punish you or withhold His blessings and protection from you. THAT IS A LIE FROM THE PIT!

Jesus bore the punishment meant for you upon HIMSELF on the cross.

If you are living in fear, then you are not living where God wants you to be. He sent His Son so you can be free from fear, guilt, anxiety, terror, stress, or condemnation.

When you pray, do not ask God to remove those things from you but begin to thank Him that He already has. It will change your life when you grasp who you are in Christ.
