Ask God For Big Blessings
Do you grapple with thinking that you are asking God for too much? Have you felt guilty when you ask God for big blessings? Or do you think that you don't deserve His best for you? Many Christians toil over this and believe it is a sign of pride if they yearn for great blessings.
Jesus came to give us abundant life – not a life of lack. Christ’s teachings and throughout the New Covenant we learn that God enjoys blessing us – in every area of our lives.
“Now to Him, who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we may ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church, by Christ Jesus, to all generations forever and ever” Ephesians 3:20 – 21.There Is No Qualification
Perhaps you have read that many times and tried to apply it to your life, yet you still struggle because you are not seeing the fulfillment of that happening.
Notice there is a prerequisite here – a qualification. It is when we KNOW the love of Christ IN US. This is where we need to start. Giving lip service to the scripture is not rooting it in your spirit. Belief is the active part of faith. God said it. I believe it. That finishes it.
However, many Christians believe or have been taught that doing more, being better, reading the Bible more, going to church more, helping others more, or giving more money to the needy is what qualifies them for blessing.
There is NO qualification in any part of the New Covenant, including this passage, except that we understand and KNOW the love that Jesus Christ has for us. How simple is that? Why is there a struggle to believe that?Pray In Expectation
When we pray in expectation and thanksgiving instead of doubt, we will see the execution of all that God desires for us. But Paul didn’t stop there. He said to not only expect to be blessed but exceedingly and abundantly above what we can imagine.
If we believe that God will bless us and expect the best, the Bible says that He will do even more. Understand that God is bound by His Word. He does not make promises flippantly.
This is how we pray the answer – instead of the problem. The answer is in God’s Word. The promises are ours. We are confident that God’s Word is yes and amen and it is for us – when we choose to believe it.
Nothing Is Impossible
Do not be someone who believes it is up to you to earn God’s love to be blessed – that is an untruth being perpetrated by the king of lies.
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” Ephesians 3:17 – 19.
God becomes big in your life when you know His love; when you accept it and do not doubt it.
When we realize how big His love is for us, we can ask big and think big and God will even exceed that. When you believe right, the floodgates of blessings open. Nothing is impossible.
“Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant” Psalm 35:27.
Think about that. God is interested in your success. He delights in blessing you. STOP limiting God. He is interested in your total well-being – in all areas of your life – your family, career, marriage, ministry, relationships, and the list goes on.
When it comes to your desires, there is no insignificant detail. If it matters to you – it matters to Him.
God is never dismissive or condescending. He does not judge nor condemn you or make fun of your shortcomings. You are important to Him. He cares about the lilies of the field, the birds of the air and the stars in the sky. How much more important YOU are!
Jesus knows you. He accepts you. He loves you perfectly. You have favor with Him because of your love for Him. You do not deserve that love. You cannot earn that love. He gives it freely to those who trust and believe in Him and His Word.
If you are experiencing financial lack, struggling with addiction, battling poor decisions, or suffering in any way, know that you know that you know, God wants to set you free – to deliver you from the snare of the fowler and bless you in every area of your life.
