The Laws Of Physics Broken - Divine Intervention

On a brisk Spring morning, I headed home from an eight-day speaking tour in Southern Washington and paced myself to avoid rush-hour traffic. I stopped for breakfast outside of Seattle and called my husband.

“Good morning, honey. I’m on schedule and should be able to meet up with you later this afternoon. It’s a gorgeous day and I can’t wait to get home.” 

“Drive carefully. There are always idiots on the freeways.” 

“You know I will.”

Although both of us tended to be speeders, we always made sure to be alert to the traffic around us.

Where All Laws Of Physics Are DEFIED

the center lane, I noticed a policeman on a motorcycle two cars in front of me. I glanced at my speedometer to be sure I kept the speed limit.

Suddenly a black car edged way too close to my right, traveling at the same speed. My body tensed as I noticed our side-view mirrors were about an inch apart. Without time to check my rear-view mirror, I moved over to the next lane and she followed, just as close. I pressed down on my horn, but she didn’t respond. I eased off the accelerator to slow down and what happened next became a blur.

My hands gripped the wheel tight; my heart beat fast and my body shook. With everything in me, I shouted, “Jesus!”

There was no time for me to react or apply the brakes. Her car crashed against the cement meridian and spun sideways. My SUV headed directly to her front door.

Here is where all laws of physics were defied.

This Is Divine Intervention

My truck stopped. No, I did not apply the brakes. It stopped immediately, within inches of her door.

Nothing was tossed inside of my vehicle. My speed was between 65 and 68 mph. The stop wasn’t rough, but strangely gentle. The engine did not die. The stop was soft and easy as if I were traveling at 10 mph, not 65.

As her airbag deployed, she held her cell in her right hand. Had she been texting at that speed? Was she trying to kill herself?

Traffic slowed and a couple of drivers pulled up to see if we were okay. My body trembled.

The front of the girl’s car was completely fragmented and gone. A man asked me to back up my truck to give him room to open her door and pull her out. 

Then he came back to report, “She said it was a rental car (brand new) and the steering was wonky.”

The steering was wonky? Not so. Why was she going at that speed? And why didn’t she attempt to stop?

Then he asked a question that baffled me. "What's this in front of your car?"

No answers. Only the undeniable fact that a pile of sand stopped my truck gently, without incident.

I looked at him. “My angels put it there!”

He gave a crooked smile and shook his head in disbelief. 

There is only one explanation for what happened; divine intervention. There is no doubt, nor any rationalization. Truly, it was a miracle.

Faith Overcomes Fear

When I called out the name of Jesus it was with the assurance He was with me and would protect me. Even in that split second, faith overcame fear.

As I continued my trip home, God overwhelmed me with His peace and the experience reminded me of a small child playing with a toy car. The child holds a car in his hand making the wheels go faster and faster and then places it on the floor. It doesn’t move. The One who held it in His hand – stopped it.

Understand Your Authority - Law Of Physics Broken

To comprehend the impact of using the name of Jesus, we need to understand our authority.

Jesus has given us the power of attorney to use His name. His name has all authority on earth and we are permitted to use it. Without that understanding, we may struggle in the thought arena and feel whipped by the enemy.

When we come to the understanding of our power, we are in the arena of faith and the devil is the victim, not us.
