You Have An Inheritance
What does the Bible mean when it says that Christ became a curse for us? He became a curse to redeem us from any curse. You have the God-given right to be free.
God’s blessings are part of our inheritance. It is necessary to understand who you are in Christ to live the abundant life that Christ promised you. You have unbelievable benefits as a believer. You can walk in freedom from guilt and shame. You can live a life wholly and soar in every area of your life.Blessed With Spiritual Blessings
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” Galatians 3:13-14.
Not only are we blessed with spiritual blessings, but miracles in every area of our natural life. Christ became the curse for us so we can experience and enjoy the blessings of Abraham. God does not want you to have just one blessing but everything He has promised you.
When you pray, start by thanking God for that promise. Praise Him for what He said He would do. Stop begging God for what He has already promised you. Accept what is rightfully yours and praise Him for it.
Do you appreciate how wealthy Abraham was? The Bible tells us that he was rich in land, animals, silver, and gold.
“And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” Galatians 3:29.
A Simple Truth
We are heirs. We have an inheritance. It is rightfully ours. It has been given to us as God's children. Are you a Christian? Do you belong to Jesus? Then you are living and moving in that place, as an heir.
Many people say, “Well, that sounds like the prosperity gospel, and I want no part of it.” This is NOT the prosperity gospel. This is a simple truth that Paul tells us how to live. It is your choice to believe it or reject it.
Every believer in Christ is an heir. Whenever you hear the word ‘heir,’ it speaks of something good. An inheritance is not something you work for. It is not yours because you earned it. It is yours because of WHOSE YOU ARE.Your inheritance is yours because of WHOSE YOU ARE
You have a blood-bought inheritance in Christ as the seed of Abraham. You are an heir according to the promise. PERIOD.
There are many promises in the Bible we believe. What was the promise God made to Abraham? And herein lies the KEY:
“For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but THROUGH THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF FAITH” Romans 4:13.
In the original Greek text, the word ‘world’ used here is ‘kosmos.’ That word includes earthly goods, endowments, riches, advantages, and pleasures.
That is your inheritance as a child of God. That is the promise God made to Abraham and his seed; his heirs – you are one of them.
Your Mindset Is Your Choice
Your mindset is your choice – you can choose to believe negative thoughts or what the Word says about you. You can live with the mindset of a pauper or a King’s kid. It is that simple. When we choose to believe God’s Word, our lives change for the better.
If you believe that if you read your Bible more, pray more, or do more honorable deeds you are working towards your inheritance, you are sadly mistaken. Nothing in the Word will confirm that. You are under a New Covenant of grace, signed in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. He paid the price so you can live the abundant life He promised you.
When you get that truth into your inner person, you will live in a realm of expectation rather than the realm of doubt, worry, and strife.
God’s promises were to Abraham and his seed – that is you and me. Start believing it.
