How To Pray For More Faith

How do I pray for more faith? Have you ever asked that question? In Romans 12:3 Paul tells us that God has dealt to each of us the measure of faith. Now, the question should be: Should I pray for more faith?
My question is: Why would you pray for something you already have?
The verse in Romans is clear. Each of us, not some of us, has been given a measure of faith. It is UP TO US to increase our faith and have it grow. God has already done His part.
Praying For More Faith

How do we increase the faith that God has already given to us? The Word tells us in Romans 10:17 that “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” We build our faith by acting on the faith God has given us.
It is easy for a child to believe you, the parent, when you promise them something. They believe that you are telling them the truth and do not question it. They expect you to fulfill the promise. When we approach God like a young child and realize that we can trust God to fulfill His promises, our faith automatically increases.
We exercise that faith by choosing to believe what God has promised us in the Word. Does that sound too simple? God does not complicate things – humans do. God said it – and it is up to us to believe it. Period.
When you are sick, find the scriptures that promise you healing. Choose to stand on them. Repeat them out loud. Speak them in your prayer of thanksgiving that God has promised them to you.
Increasing Your Faith In God

When you wonder if God will ever save your spouse or your family, pray that answer by reminding yourself of the scriptures that promise salvation of your family.
Turn your prayers into thanksgiving rather than prayers of petition. Thank God in advance for what He has promised He would do. Thank Him for His love, His protection, His healing, His gift of salvation.
Daily, thank God that you have victory over sin, temptation, addiction, loss, fear, anxiety, or anything else that you may be struggling with.
In James 2:14 – 26, he talks about faith without works is dead. In researching the original text, you will find that the word ‘works’ here is the same as ‘belief.’ Read that passage substituting the word belief for the word works and it will open the eyes of your understanding.
Faith without belief is DEAD. This is the action we take to see answers to our prayers. We do not waver in our belief that when God says it in his Word, we can bank on it.
