You Have Nothing To Fear - Trust In The Lord

nothing to fear

Has your life changed since the onset of the worldwide pandemic? Many would agree that it has dramatically shifted, and that life is not the same as it was a few years ago.

One of the biggest changes I have observed is the interaction with other people, especially strangers. People move out of the way when you walk past them, instead of the friendly smile, nod, or “Hello” we grew accustomed to hearing.

You do not see as many people hugging, shaking hands, or sitting close to one another in public areas.

These scenarios are associated with fear; fear of the unknown, fear that has indoctrinated us, and the uncertainty attached to it

Yet, the Bible clearly shows us that we have nothing to fear, and to some, that brings confusion why they are caught up in the web of distress around them.

In addition, we have many instances in life where we have good reason to fear. It may be a physical diagnosis we were not anticipating or a sudden loss of income. It may be devastating news about someone we love. Often, fear grips us and plays out in our minds as to what could happen. This is often the first place our minds take us.

Nothing To Fear

nothing to fear

This was the case in 22 Kings 6 when the King of Syria seized an opportunity to capture Elisha who was in the city of Dothan. He organized a great army with many chariots, horsemen, and weapons. He surrounded the city at night so he would not miss the opportunity of capturing the man of God.

The next morning, Elisha’s servant went outside the tent and could see the army surrounding them. Fear gripped him as he looked in every direction and saw no means of escape. He knew that he and Elisha were doomed, and he began to panic.

He roused Elisha from his sleep and cried, “My master, my master, what shall we do? Come, look at the armies out there. They are on every side.

Realize Who You Are In Christ

who you are in christ

Have you ever felt that panic? Have you felt terror grip you? There were many times in my life when I shook from fear.

I was raped and left for dead in the street.

I was told that I would die in two years because of cancer raging through my body.

I was told I would never have children.

I was told my husband was in a car accident which resulted in permanent brain damage.

I was told my one-year-old baby boy was being returned to his birth mother.

I heard the judge lower the gavel and send my husband to prison.

I saw the results of our home being destroyed by fire.

And there are more such instances I share in my memoir, Battered Hope

The ‘army’ often surrounded my husband and me, but it was up to us how we would respond. We saw how great the enemy was, but we knew the One who was greater dwelled in us.

We must realize who we are in Christ not only with lip service by repeating the scriptures that promise us protection but by hearing the voice of the Word in our spirit. We need to make those verses part of our inner spirit so that when fear comes, it is met with the Word of God.

See Miracles In Your Life

see miracles

Would you like to know how to pray the answer, instead of the problem in any situation you may face? Do you want to see miracles in your life? Do you want to achieve the health and prosperity that God promises us in His Word?

miracles happen

The answer is given in response to Elisha’s servant’s horror. Elisha said, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Can you imagine what the servant thought? He looked around, saw the enemy, and Elisha is telling him not to worry. God’s army was surrounding them and according to Elisha, the adversary was deemed futile.

Then Elisha prayed and asked God to open the servant’s eyes. Suddenly, the servant saw the magnificence of God’s army. He saw the chariots of fire. He saw the warriors of God.

He immediately knew that no one or nothing would be able to penetrate that wall of force put there by God Almighty. He realized that the angelic army utterly dwarfed the Syrian forces.

The unseen forces that surround you are far greater than any challenge that faces you.
