Why We Should Not Pray For The Anointing
Have you prayed for the anointing? If you answered yes to that question, my next question is ‘why?’ Why would we pray for something that we already have?
When we are born again, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our spirit and He does not leave.
According to scripture, as Christians, we are anointed. In 2 Corinthians 1: 21 – 22 it says, “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
In 1 John 2:20, it says “But you have an anointing from the Holy One.” There is no question mark there. There is no qualification required. It does not say you have to pray for ‘more’ of the anointing. It clearly states that you HAVE an anointing.
Understanding The Anointing
Again in 1 John 2:27, it says “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you.”
When you accept and grasp the truth of God’s Word to you, it will change your life. It will help you to see yourself as God sees you. Not because you are good enough or deserve it, but because God chooses to give you the gift of the anointing. You did not merit it. You cannot earn it. It is a gift.
It is the ANOINTING that gives you the power and the authority to be victorious in your Christian walk. And you must realize you have it!
When we understand that God has anointed us and we pray the scripture and stand on the promise, trust Him without reservation, fully realize that we are in God’s favor, then we can grasp the fact that God’s anointing is in us and in our lives.Praying For The Anointing
When we understand that anointing – we understand our authority.
Realize deeply that when we pray and ask God for something He already has given us, we are saying we don’t believe God or His Word. We come from a place of doubt instead of faith.
When we pray for the anointing which God has already given us, it shows Him that we do NOT believe His Word.
Remember: we stand before God righteous and complete, not because of anything we have done but because of what He has done for us. And this anointing is what gives you the power and the authority to walk the Christian life you want to walk.
When the Word tells us that God has given us something, we can take that to the bank and cash it. We know it is true. God does not lie.
God's Word Is True
As I have been teaching on YouTube and the prayer course when you pray the answer instead of the problem, you are approaching God with a heart of thanksgiving for what He is about to do.
When you believe that God’s Word is true, that He does not lie, it empowers us.
