Stop Asking God The Authority You Already Have

authority you have

When we comprehend that the battle we believe to be fighting is already won, do we continue to fight or rest on the truth that we are victorious?

Your authority over any dilemma is part of your inheritance. What does that mean?  The value of authority depends on the force behind it

If you approach an intersection and a child is standing in the center directing traffic, what do you do?  Do you obey the children’s directions? Do you get irritated that a kid is putting himself in danger?

You instinctually know that there is no authority behind that child’s commands. But, if you were at the same crossroads, and a police officer was directing traffic, you would follow his lead. You understand the power and authority behind the police officer.

The Authority You Have

authority you have

It is no different in the spiritual world we live in. You have been delegated power by God Almighty. Your authority is part of your inheritance as a believer. That inheritance includes dominion over sickness, disease, sin, and spiritual death.  Grab that thought. Meditate on it. Say it out loud.

Understand that this authority is given to you not because of what you have done, but because of what Christ has done for you

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in that which to come” Ephesians 1:18-20.

What is the name of the battle you are in? Sickness? Disease? Loss? Fear? Anxiety? Cancer? There is a name FAR ABOVE every other name, and that name is Jesus.

God Has Given You The Authority

what is authority

As a believer, God Himself has given you the authority to use that name. The prayer here is that your spiritual eyes, your understanding (which comes from our spirit – NOT our mind) be enlightened. God desires that we understand who we are in Christ.

So how do we become successful in usurping the authority that we have? By receiving and knowing that God has given you that understanding through the word of God, witnessed in your spirit, which comes back as the Rhema spoken word of God, to your heart, to your spiritual understanding.

Under the Old Covenant, only the high priests had authority over the demonic realm. But Jesus is our high priest, and when He died and rose again, the evil spirits recognized immediately that the authority they once had has been ripped from them, because of Christ, and given to the believer.

The last thing the enemy wants you to believe is that truth and he will try to keep you from it. He does not want you to understand your inheritance, your position of authority, or who you are because of Christ.

So, the drum roll here is a loud one:

STOP asking God to give you the authority that you ALREADY have.

You Have The Authority

you have the authority

When you fully realize that, you will stop fighting. There will be no questions, no doubt. You will grasp the understanding of your authority and when you know it – the kingdoms of darkness know you KNOW that.

When you see your foe as defeated, you will no longer be fighting. He has been DETHRONED. The Word tells us that the enemy has been put to ‘naught.’ That means, he has been put to NOTHING.

When you see him in his rightful position and you are aware of your inherited position, you will rest instead of fight.

Jesus, and His death and resurrection, have given you the authority over all dominions, all evil, and all darkness, and you can live a victorious life as a result.

Jesus' name has authority in three realms, heaven, earth, and hell. His name is above every other name. You do not need to work at it, you do not need to ask for it. All you need to do is recognize it

Recognize the fight is over and the battle is won. You are not fighting but going as the armies in the Old Testament went into battle -- praising God. They went in praising God that the battle was won.

When we comprehend that we are victorious, the enemy will realize that you know that as well

You do not have to feel worn out, tired, or complain to your friends that you have been under spiritual warfare. Why? The battle's won.

Pray your target verses back to the Father as a prayer of thanksgiving instead of a petition in whatever area you need answers. Thank God that He has made provision for you in His Word. Thank Him that He has fought and won on your behalf.

More than anything else, realize that this message is for YOU – not for the select few – but for everyone who chooses to believe God’s Word. His Word is YES and Amen – not maybe.

Your job is to believe it. It is that simple. Recognize it, believe it, repeat it, and voice it -- "I have authority."
